Commemorating the birthday of visionary founder Dr Suniti Solomon, YRG MERF announced the selection of 86 outstanding young women as the first Suniti Scholars.

Launched to mark the 10th anniversary of Dr Solomon’s passing, this initiative offers higher education scholarships to HIV-affected girls from Northeast India, overcoming stigma and adversity.

An independent committee ensured fair selection, with disbursements made on World AIDS Day to connect their journeys to the global HIV cause. “Celebrating these scholars on Dr Solomon’s birthday embodies her ethos of education as empowerment,” stated YRG MERF representatives.

This programme lays the groundwork for expansive, inclusive educational frameworks.
