Following successful editions in Bangalore and Chennai, Y. R. Gaitonde Medical, Educational and Research Foundation brought Break the Silence to Mumbai on January 30-31, 2026. The well-attended two-day festival convened leading mental health professionals, therapists, corporate leaders, and community advocates to advance critical conversations on emotional well-being, resilience, and healing.

Organized in partnership with The Fulfillment Institute and Designer World - Nagpal Group, and hosted at Rotary Club Bombay West, the event brought together representatives from The Mind and Arts Institute, Mariwala Health Initiative, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Chetana Foundation, Prafulta, Synchrony, and The Art Sanctuary, alongside independent practitioners and clinicians.

The festival featured six expert-led panel discussions across two days.

  1. The opening panel, Breaking the Silence: Building a Culture of Emotional Well-being, brought together diversity consultants, corporate wellness leaders, and healthcare professionals to examine how organizations and communities can meaningfully prioritize mental health.

  2. Pathways to Healing and Resilience featured psychotherapists and mental health educators from Mariwala Health Initiative and TISS to explore trauma recovery, evidence-based therapeutic approaches, and the role of community in long-term healing.

  3. Youth, Identity, and Mental Health convened psychologists and educators to discuss how digital culture, shifting social norms, and parenting shape the mental health of millennials and Gen Z.

  4. Mind, Body, and Boundaries examined gender, diversity, and safety through perspectives from activists, sociologists, and dance movement therapy practitioners.

  5. Disconnect to Reconnect explored the psychological impact of digital overload, with independent practitioners offering strategies for mindful technology use.

  6. The final panel, Creative Expression for Healing, brought together art therapists, dance movement psychotherapists, and artists to explore how creative modalities support trauma recovery and emotional resilience.

  7. The event also featured a dance showcase on movement for mental health by choreographer Javed Sanadi, and an art-based therapy workshop led by Nabhiraj Mehta of The Mind and Arts Institute.

The festival closed with a Closing Circle and Reflection, where panelists and attendees shared personal commitments to mental health advocacy. Participants left with practical tools, expanded perspectives, and a renewed sense of community - reflecting the festival's core mission to challenge stigma and co-create pathways to healing across India.
