YRG MERF has announced a landmark partnership with NeoSky India Limited and Garuda Aerospace Limited, with the valued support of FICCI FLO, to train and build a cohort of 1,000 women drone operators across 14+ locations in India beginning in 2026.

Rooted in the belief that a woman’s well-being is deeply connected to her economic independence, the initiative aims to create meaningful livelihood opportunities for women by equipping them with future-ready technical skills in one of India’s fastest-growing industries.

Through this initiative, women across the country will receive structured training and certification, preparing them to become employable, industry-ready drone operators capable of contributing to sectors ranging from agriculture and logistics to surveillance, mapping, and public service delivery.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalising the partnership was signed on May 11, 2026, in Bengaluru, in the gracious presence of Ms. Pooja Garg, National President, FICCI FLO, alongside senior FLO members and the leadership teams of YRG MERF, NeoSky India Limited, and Garuda Aerospace Limited.

Speaking on the occasion, representatives from the partnering organisations highlighted the importance of creating pathways for women to participate in emerging technology-driven sectors and shaping a more inclusive workforce for the future.

For over four decades, YRG MERF has worked across health, research, and community development, championing initiatives that place dignity, equity, and sustainability at the centre of social progress. This collaboration marks another significant step in advancing women’s economic empowerment through innovation and skill development.

The initiative is expected to roll out across multiple cities in phases starting in 2026.
